The "Moving Wall" (Vietnam Combat Veterans) will be in West Newton, PA on June 11 through June 15th.  The Opening Ceremonies will be on June 11th at 6:00pm.  The event is being sponsored by The Loyal Order Of Moose Lodge #31 and The VFW (Veterans Of Foreign Wars) Post #7812.  Both organizations are located in West Newton and are working hard to raise the necessary funds needed and in the preparation for this fantastic event.  I am tremendously proud of all of the people who are giving their time and money in support of this event and am anticipating a great turnout.  West Newton is the perfect community to receive such an honor.  The people there are the epitomy of Patriotism and understand the importance of honoring those that have served their country and those that have lost their lives defending our freedom.
The traveling wall is a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial which is located in Wash. DC.  It has been travelling throughout the US since 1984 and is free to the public.  The display will be open 24 hours a day at The Lion's Field with an attendant present along with security that will assist anyone with the location of a name which is on the wall.  There will also be a computer on-site to assist in locating the names of loved ones.  Etchings can be made of the panels and the materials needed will be provided.  The Closing ceremonies will be held on June 14th at 6:00 pm but the display will be open through the 15th.
If you are able to get there, I'll be the 1-legged guy holding a Budweiser standing alongside my closest friends.  I'm sure the weather will be fantastic, so jump on your bike and come see The Moving Wall.  And if you are one of "those" that don't have a bike......I guess you can drive there in a car.
Thanks,
