Hey, guess what- more rain. Rain, Fog, Rain, Fog, that's what a HOG rally is all about. But once again, the elements did not slow us down. Karen and I left for Snowshoe on Thursday morning. It was a beautiful ride down even though it rained about half the time. Karen drove down in her car so she stayed dry and carried all my bags. When we arrived at Snowshoe we ran into Al, Cay, Paul, Kathie, Chris, Keith and Donna at the registration desk. This was huge since they have been there before and were able to lead us through the fog to where our rooms were located. The rooms were great and coincidentally were right next door to where Tom, Jill, Jerry and Dee were staying. The few times that the fog lifted, the view was spectacular from our balcony. Unfortunately, Karen had to leave on Friday due to a family emergency but we had a great time while she was there. Paul, leave our mugs alone!!! You can't think that you can get away with stealing others' property while having to carry Kathie during your getaway back to your room. Hey Kathie, thanks for the backrub.
Friday night was one for the record books. From Rachael preferring the Men's Room and "Precious Butt Face's" little feet, it seemed like we never stopped laughing. Maybe I should explain. We were fortunate to meet Rachael, commonly referred to as Rebecca (from Sunnybrook Farm) who was having difficulty with sobriety. She came over to our table and began to tell us all about her boyfriend, Jared, commonly referred to as Precious Butt Face. She wouldn't stop talking about how much she loved him and how he had such adorable little feet. As the night wore on we met Jared's parents, Jeff and Jackie, and his friends, Mark and PJ. We were all drinking but were put to shame by Rebecca and Precious. We all had a great time and will laugh about it forever.
Saturday was another great day. It started out with a ride around the mountains- of course we got wet. Dinner was pretty good, we ate buffalo or was it elk or was it moose. I don't really know what it was but it was meat and that is all that matters. but of course, it rained on us outside while we were eating so we had to run for cover. We ended up at the same bar as Friday night and were lucky that it stopped raining and we were able to enjoy the band that was playing outside. The band really rocked and there were plenty of memorable moments such as Kathie with her head in the lap of an unconscious drunk, Rachael dancing and singing on stage with the band (Jared was not too happy about that) and PJ was feeling absolutely no pain what-so-ever. What a great night but it had to end. It was a nice change of pace being the responsible person for an evening. How rare is that? Sunday had to come but it came way too early-TOM!!!!!!! We left a little early for my taste but I guess as one gets older they try to get the most out of the little time they have left so they like to get up early (thinking it will lengthen their life) even they go to bed at 7pm. Plus, when riding home at, or below, the speed limit, you need more time to get there. It was a great ride home with Tom, Jill, Jerry and Dee. Thanks for the great time! -pegleg
